COVID 19 Update

April 9th, 2021

As more people are being vaccinated with the Covid 19 vaccine, we wanted to update you about what that means for our protocols here at Parkway Dental.  We are optimistic with the slow re-opening of some of the things we all know and love.  However, we are going to continue to maintain our enhanced Covid protocols until we have been given word by the State Health Department and/or the MN Board of Dentistry. A change you will notice though is that we will no longer be doing temperature screenings. The Board of Dentistry announced they no longer required temperature screenings prior to dental appointments.

As for vaccinations for our doctors and staff, we were very fortunate to be included in the 1st round of vaccinations for health care providers in the state of MN. We are so very grateful for all of the medical providers and volunteers who helped orchestrate this and make it happen.  Even with our staff & many patients being vaccinated, we are still following the guidelines and Covid protocols listed below.

*Mask are still required upon entering, leaving, and while seated in our lobby.

*Patient and staff screening regardless of vaccine status.

*Staff wearing all required PPE during procedures.

*Thoroughly disinfecting all surfaces after each patient and multiple times daily in lobby.

* Air purifications systems in every operatory.

* Hand sanitizer throughout the office.

*Schedule changes, we would like to you stay home if not feeling well, but please try and give 24 hour notice if possible.

Please call us with any questions that you may have.

We look forward to caring for your dental needs safely.

To our patients,

We wanted to introduce our newest filtration system. We are excited to now have the Jade filtration system by Surgically Clean Air.  This is another step that we are taking to maximize the safety of our patients & team. Please visit the tab above for more information, video, and website.

Wishing health and happiness to you all!

To our patients,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.  Our office will be opening for patient care on Monday May 18th, 2020.  We will be in touch to reschedule cancelled appointments and may need to modify some future appointments.  We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through these missed appointments.  Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.  That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.  We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

While many things have changed, one thing that has remained the same: our commitment to safely deliver quality dental care for you and your family.

Infection control has always been our top priority for our practice.  Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

As we reopen, you will notice some changes to your usual appointment experience.  We ask for your patience as we implement the following measures:

*Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions.  You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.

*All patients are responsible to bring their own masks.

*Check-in changes; please call our office from the parking lot upon arrival.  We will check you in over the phone and ask you to wait in your car until we are ready for your appointment.  When ready a team member will call and invite you inside where we will take your temperature and provide you with hand sanitizer.

*We are asking patients only enter the building, with the exceptions of caregivers and parents of young patients.  This will help limit the number of people in the building.

*Payments we are encouraging credit card payments over the phone or prewritten checks to decrease the wait time at the end of your appointment.

*Team protection we will be screening and taking the temperature of our team members upon arriving to work.  Any team member who is symptomatic or has a temperature over 100.4 will be sent home.  We added Plexiglas for our front desk team and we will be wearing additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including N95 masks and face shields for some appointments.  Due to this increased PPE, the temperature in our office might be cooler, so please bring a coat or sweater if you think you might need it.

If you or anyone in your household has a cough, fever, or other symptoms of COVID-19, please let us know and we will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date. We also request patients report any Covid symptoms within 14 days after appointment.

This time away from our “normal” has highlighted what is really important in life – Family.  Our family at home, our family at work, and you our dental family.  Your choice to make our office your dental home is something we are grateful for every day.

We look forward to seeing you at your upcoming appointment.

Sincerely,

Matthew Meyer, DDS & Jolene Welter, DDS
